Little Reminders for an Overthinking Mind
Hey, overthinker 👋 Yeah, you. The one replaying that convo from 3 days ago for the 100th time. The one lying in bed at 2 AM like it’s a TED Talk in your head. The one who can turn “seen” on WhatsApp into a full-blown movie script. Same. Been there. Still there sometimes. And that’s okay. 🫶 Here are a few little reminders (from me, to you) when your brain is doing the absolute most:

🌙 Jai’s Midnight Spiral
Meet Jai.
He works for a software company in the U.S. Lives alone in his 1BHK apartment. On paper, he’s “successful” — stable job, U.S. visa, the life he once dreamed of.
But every night, the lights go off and Jai’s brain switches on.
💭 “Should I start a business?”
💭 “How do I make a second income?”
💭 “Was moving to the U.S. even worth it?”
The apartment is quiet, but his thoughts are anything but. He came to America chasing money and peace. Now, he feels he’s only chasing. And secretly, he dreams of going back to India — not for money, but for peace of mind.
☕ Sound Familiar?
Maybe you’ve been Jai too.
👉 Planning your “next big thing” at 2 AM.
👉 Wondering if you’re in the right place, doing the right job, living the right life.
👉 Searching for peace in a promotion, a paycheck, a country — only to realize your brain doesn’t stop running no matter where you are.
🌸 Jai’s Gentle Shift
So one night, Jai decided he was done giving TED Talks to his ceiling at 2 AM.
Here’s what he did instead 👇
1. The Chair Trick
Instead of spiraling in bed, Jai literally got up and sat on a chair.
Why? Because if the bed is for sleep, then the chair can host his overthinking conference.
Five minutes later, even his brain was like, “Bro… this is boring.” Back to bed he went.
👉 Translation: Train your brain — bed = sleep, chair = drama.
2. The 3–Tab Close
Jai pictured his brain as Chrome with 187 tabs open (and yes, one of them was playing music he couldn’t find).
He “closed” 3 tabs out loud:
This one can wait till tomorrow.
This one isn’t even my problem.
And this one… was stupid anyway.
👉 Result: Mental RAM = freed up.
3. Future Self Note
Jai wrote a sticky note: “Dear Morning Me, figure this mess out. Night Me is off duty.”
👉 Because why ruin tonight when Future Jai can deal with it?
4. The Story Flip
Instead of obsessing “what if I fail at life,” Jai turned it into a dumb story:
He failed at coding → became a chaiwala → invented “ChaiGPT” → sold it → billionaire.
He laughed. Overthinking lost the spotlight.
👉 Lesson: If you can make it funny, your brain stops treating it like a horror movie.
✨ And just like that, Jai didn’t “cure overthinking” (lol no one can), but he hacked it.
No meditation app, no life coach, no “just breathe.” Just weird little tricks that actually worked.
And that night, Jai didn’t fight his thoughts. He outsmarted them — with creativity, humor, and boundaries.
